Beartooth Scenic Byway | All American Road | HWY 212

Beartooth Highway 212 is open from Cooke City to Hwy 296 Junction (Chief Joseph Scenic Byway) as of May 12th, 2006. However the Beartooth Highway from the Hwy 296 Junction heading East to Red Lodge is closed until the Offical Opening Date May 27th 2006. This will be a very special opening this year due to the closure last year from the Mudslides. Don't miss this spectacular drive via these Scenic Byways!

This "most beautiful highway in America" invites travelers from all over with the beckoning of peaceful solitude, rugged outdoor recreation, and the opportunity to view through the camera's lens the beauty of an unspoiled world. More info from America's Byways web site.

Mountain Patch  Patch is no longer available

Motorcycle Friendly Spectacular Scenic Drives: The Scenic drives are a very popular run for motorcyclist all over the country. Some folks from other countries have their bikes flown to the US to experience the ultimate scenic drives that our mountain ranges provide.

A very popular loop every year for the new Sturgis attendees and a return annual trip for the Sturgis Veterans. The rides can be just individuals and often biker rally's are scheduled for our scenic routes. A ride not to be missed! Make sure we are on your agenda. For those that come for the experience or those who have it as a dream you can purchase one of our Patches of the Mountain Ride.

Contact the chamber via e-mail or phone 406-838-2495 to order your patch. The purchase of a patch helps the Chamber raise money for the community center building we hope to build some day. You can also stop at our present visitors center in Cooke City to purchase your patch.
