Take the old mining roads up into the mountains high above the valley floor into the historic mining areas.  There are a number of trails that lead from town. A network of OHV roads and trails near the Cooke City area provide a truly unique opportunity.

You can travel off of the highway into an area of scenic grandeur just minutes away. These roads and trails provide access to fishing lakes, a historic mining district, breath taking scenery and numerous hiking trails. ATV Vehicles are not permitted in Yellowstone National Park, although there are vast miles and miles of ATV terrain around Cooke City, Colter Pass, and Silver Gate. ATV rentals are available locally. ATV (OHV) Registration Decals can be purchased locally at the Exxon. Decals are $27 per unit for 1 calendar year. Check with our two local dealers for current information regarding ATV (OHV) in this spectacular area.
